I saw this YouTube clip

and tried to replicate the first option in AP using the tools available. However, when I apply the second extension the original one resizes itself along one or more side. Can anyone advise what I might be doing wrong. I extend canvas by appropriate no of pixels. I then extend canvas again with appropriate pixels or inches. I have tried this on one layer and with duplicating layer for each step. See attached screenshot of what I get

The problem is due to the Edit > Matte command you used after the first resize canvas command, which could well be a bug

It also does weird things if after the Matte command you do a clip or unclip canvas

To get around the problem just use Layer > Rasterise and Trim after the Matte command then do the second resizing of the canvas

If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

What do you mean by second extension?

If you want to change the canvas size, and not keep the aspect ratio, then click on the padlock to unlock the ratio. Type in the amount you want to increase, hit enter, then resize.

By second extension i mean the 2nd re-sizing canvas. i am hopeful the solution suggested by Carl123 will sort this. Thanks.

Carl. That sorts it. Thank you so much for resolving this for me.
