martyc Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Being someone who uses music production and design software I feel as though a 'Solo' button for layers would increase workflow by being able to see only one layer at a time for editing when the file becomes complicated, just like you would solo a music track in Cubase, Logic, Ableton Live, etc. The attached image shows soloing a track (or music layer) in ableton live. The blue s lower left side. I just downloaded designer today so if this exists now, my apologies. Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 10, 2015 Staff Posted December 10, 2015 Hi martyc, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Press and hold ⌥ (option/alt) and click on a layer to isolate it. Clicking on another layer shows them all again. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
retrograde Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 MEB, a couple of things here that I find strange. 1 - it seems it only works if what you want to isolate is NOT selected. If it's selected then option clicking on the layer does nothing. 2 - Once you do isolate it then go to edit it, everything else comes back and it's no longer isolated. What's the point of isolating if you can't do any work on the isolated object?
