Feature Request: Automatically remove any hyperlink when Importing PDFs

Recommended Posts

Doesn't it already remove hyperlinks when Opening a PDF?

Are you asking for that to be optional, so they can be kept or deleted at your choice?

I've just discovered that AP has created a hyperlink in one of a list of references at the end of a document. This reference contains four sources, only one of which is a web address (the others are books or newspaper articles). I removed the hyperlink from the original Word text and placed chevrons around the URL (removing http://) in keeping with the document style. Now, in the exported PDF, the entire reference has a become a hyperlink, not just the URL. When I click "Show Anchors" in the Interactive submenu, I can see nothing to indicate that there is a hyperlink anywhere in this piece of text. I have just re-exported the PDF and this time scrolled down the options to uncheck the "Include Hyperlinks" option but the hyperlink persists in the PDF. (1) How can I get rid of it and (2) how can I stop this happening again?

Some PDF viewers try to find things that they think look like hyperlinks and turn them into links. So, first, I would try a different viewer. Maybe there's really no hyperlink there at all.

If that doesn't work, can you provide the PDF for us to look at?
