Exporting transparent photo

Recommended Posts

I have always used the cutout studio to eliminate the background on a portrait photo and then export as a PNG or GIF file. This was never a problem but now the resulting photo comes with a white rectangle. I have tried it several times but still the box. I must be doing something wrong but I need help please.

Thank you

Sam

Can you tell us what the “cutout studio” is please? (I’ve never heard of that one.)
Also, would you be able to give us a full-screen screenshot of the problem so we can see what you can see?
It’s difficult to advise on what you can see when we can’t see it.

I could be wrong but isn’t Cutout Studio a part of Serif’s old PagePlus software? And not the Affinity line.

The OP probably means this one, which came along with some Serif tools (?) ...

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2

Though there is also "CutOut" & "CutOut Pro" from Franzis (de) & Franzis (en). Actually, as every year, some older "CutOut" versions (like "CutOut 6" Win/Mac) are always available via such christmas calendar give aways etc. - Well you know, those xmas services, where you get something in exchange for your Email address in order to spam you afterwards with advertisements! 😉

For those interested in such xmas calendar give away stuff, take for example a look under ...

And there then the foto related stuff from Franzis like ...
