DesignLife Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 In Affinity Photo, macOS, german keyboard layout and display language, [ and ] are the default keys for brush size. They can be accessed via cmd + 5 resp. 6. However the shortcut is not working. If i change it to e.g. +, it is working. Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 If you want to use [ and ] on that keyboard, you probably need to specifically set the shortcuts yourself. The default shortcuts are not remapped automatically based on the kind of keyboard you have, as far as I know. Old Bruce Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 There is a misunderstanding about how shortcuts are actually implemented. There are Keycodes (the number generated by the switch under the key on the keyboard that you press) and then there is the ASCII value. A German keyboard will not generate the same Keycodes as the keyboard I have and use. Some Shortcuts may have to be remapped. charactersword 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear. DesignLife Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 I don't quite understand. So what you're saying is that actually the German shortcut list is not correct? Shouldn't Serif update it then as there are surely a lot of German speaking users that use the qwertz layout? Quote
