David Lucy Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 I have just realised that after a reset the very useful general options suggestions in the adjustment panel have disappeared, how do I recover them? Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 I'm not sure what you mean about the "general options suggestions" disappearing. Can you describe further, or provide a screenshot? David Lucy Posted November 27, 2021 Author Posted November 27, 2021 Hi Walt For example when selecting say White balance from adjustments panel it previously provided a few options such as cold or warm etc. Which could be applied to the image if suitable. These are no longer appearing. No point in a screen shot as they are not there to show. Had some of my own presets as well but they have also gone. Suppose I may be able to recover them from a previous image if I need to. David Lucy Quote

Is this not happening for you? One question before I suggest a potential fix: You initially said that this started "after a reset". What kind of reset, and what did you reset, and why were you doing it? In any case, to continue the investigation, step by step: When you open the Adjustments panel, with an image open, it should look like this: If you then click on an adjustment type (here I clicked on the entry for White Balance) you should get something like this, with some Presets showing: Finally, to add an adjustment layer, you would click on one of those Presets. Are you saying that in step 2, you are not getting any Presets showing? If so, you may need to do a partial reset of your application: Press and hold the Ctrl key, and start the application. You'll get a Clear User Data dialog. On Windows, you may need to watch for the application icon to show up in the task bar, and click it. Once you have that dialog, release the Ctrl key. Unselect everything, and select Reset Adjustments. Click the Clear button. (Note: this will remove any adjustment presets that you have added, and leave you with just the factory set. It should not affect anything else.) David Lucy Posted November 28, 2021 Author Posted November 28, 2021 The screen dumps are exactly as I used to get it, but not now. I have tried your suggested cure but it has not worked. It still defaults directly to the manual adjustment window. I know it sounds dumb but I cannot quite recall why I invoked the reset in the first place, I know I unticked the ' hardware acceleration' box in the ' preferences / performance ' section in order to overcome the programme continually crashing. Are you sure you're using the Adjustments panel? That's the behavior you'd get if you used the Adjustments icon from the Layers panel, or used Layer > New Adjustment Layer from the menu. You seem to be resisting giving us screenshots, but they might help. A video might be even better. David Lucy Posted November 28, 2021 Author Posted November 28, 2021 Now I really do feel dumb! You are absolutely correct in that I have been using the adjustments icon and layer adjustment instead of the adjustment panel. Totally stupid. Now it works! My apologies and thanks for your forbearance, time and patience. Rgds David walt.farrell 1 Quote
