I have to use Photoshop to get splines from images and I would prefer to own a program that does that. That is really my only reason for needing Photoshop. Anything else can be done in this program. Is it possible in Affinity Photo to export selection as splines? For example if I want to take some Japanese calligraphy and select it and then import it into 3ds Max and make a street sign out of the text, is this possible?

Hi @ULTRA,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Unfortunately it's not possible to export selections as Splines, my apologies.

I'll move this thread to the Feedback section of our forums, for our devs to see and consider adding this feature in a future update.

I hope this helps!

You can use free open source Inkscape to turn any image  into vector silhouette       Path>TraceBitmap   .   And it does it a bit better than Photoshop actually
