awakenedbyowls Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 So there's a load of Pixel Brushes on the iPad version that aren't on the Windows version, namely: Artista Brushes Dust Brushes Stamps by .. Dust Brushes Stroke by .. Pixel Shader Brushes Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 They're present in Photo and in the Pixel Persona of Designer on my system. I think you need to own the iPad version before you get them, but then they'll be downloaded to the Windows version, too, if you have My Account configured for automatic download. awakenedbyowls 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. I'm using the iPad version through Family Sharing - does that make a difference? I wasn't logged in on my Windows version. Do you need to log in every time there's an update? Anyway I noticed there were some add-ons there which might include these brushes. Where does it download those too? I don't want to be downloading multiple versions of the same thing and using up disk space. Quote
awakenedbyowls Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 Well anyway I figured it out - and discovered another new brush set while I was at it.. Quote

Yes, you need to be logged-in to My Account to get new items that have been added to your account. I just stay logged-in all the time. 8 minutes ago, awakenedbyowls said: Anyway I noticed there were some add-ons there which might include these brushes. Those brushes come as Add-ons with their name, thus Artista Brushes, etc. No other Add-ons have them, that I know of. 8 minutes ago, awakenedbyowls said: Where does it download those too? Each application downloads its own copy, and on Windows they go into the usual place that all Brushes, or all Assets, etc. for that application go. My question was if it was necessary to log in after new updates. Quote Each application downloads its own copy, and on Windows they go into the usual place that all Brushes, or all Assets, etc. for that application go. I'm asking because it seems like I've had to download these multiple times in the course of using Affinity software - so if it is inviting me to download these again can I assume it's because the previous copy is no longer there? Sometimes things like these need attention because over time PC's can get clogged up with obsolete data. Quote

If I'm logged-in before an update I'm logged-in after it. 27 minutes ago, awakenedbyowls said: so if it is inviting me to download these again can I assume it's because the previous copy is no longer there? It's no longer there, or you never downloaded it via My Account in that application before. awakenedbyowls Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 Maybe it depends how you update - sometimes I just download the new copy and update later Quote
