I have the same issue as Zoya, please help. I recently installed Affinity 1.10.0 and every time I use it the app freezes on me. Are there any problems with this version that anyone knows about?

I'm trying to remove the background of a photo. I get to the point where I've selected and refined the subject and the app stops working. According to Task Manager I have plenty of resources left. I only have a browser, Task Manager, and Affinity Photo open. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I'm also experiencing some severe stability issues with Photo 1.10 that weren't there in 1.9. Designer and Publisher seem to also be fine as far as I can tell, though I haven't used Designer much since 1.10, so I'm not 100% sure on that one.

I've specifically experienced severe slow-downs when resizing/resampling images and merging multiple layers, to the point where it makes the music I'm listening to start to stutter, which never happened before 1.10 (I'm on a gaming computer, so I don't think hardware resources are the problem). Also one time when I was trying to work with several layers to stitch together multiple images, the drag-to-move function on the move tool just stopped working altogether and I had to restart Photo. I'm considering trying to roll back to 1.9 for Photo until the next update or something.

Did disabling openCL resolve your crashing issues?

To be perfectly frank, I was so frustrated at losing the work (three times) that I decided to uninstall 1.10.0 and go back to an earlier version.

After I complete the project my wife wants me to do I will switch back to the new version and make the openCL preferences change and try it again.

Try Edit > Preferences > Performance and unticking Enable OpenCL compute acceleration. It resolved my issue
