Matt_W
Hi everyone, I am quite new to affinity designer and have an issue with the clipping tool: I have created an outline and want to use it as a mask for some shapes. However, when I drag my shape (black bar) into the outline layer, both of them disappear. Can anyone please help me fix this issue? Cheers, Matt

Staff MEB Posted July 27, 2021 Staff Share Posted July 27, 2021 Hi @Matt_W, Welcome to Affinity Forums I believe what you want to do is to use the outline layer as a clipping shape (mask), so other objects will be only visible inside the outline shape area. To do this drag the rectangle over the outline layer in the Layers panel - NOT over its thumbnail, but over the area on the right until you see a blue marker below the outline layer.
