Hi everyone,

I am quite new to affinity designer and have an issue with the clipping tool:

I have created an outline and want to use it as a mask for some shapes. However, when I drag my shape (black bar) into the outline layer, both of them disappear. Can anyone please help me fix this issue?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi @Matt_W,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
I believe what you want to do is to use the outline layer as a clipping shape (mask), so other objects will be only visible inside the outline  shape area. To do this drag the rectangle over the outline layer in the Layers panel  - NOT over its thumbnail, but over the area on the right until you see a blue marker below the outline layer.
