Publisher: Problem using apostrophes or Delete key in text frames (Split/Moved)

Recommended Posts

I am working on affinity publisher and it doesn´t let me use the apostrophes. I do not know why is so since two hours ago I could use them ( I am writing in Spanish, a language full of "tildes"). Besides, when I am inside a text frame, if I push the "delete" key, the whole text frame disappears, not just the character. I do not know the reason. May be I have changed something without noticing, but it is driving me crazy. Some help, please?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @inapalserrano.

What OS are you on?

What happens when you try to use an apostrophe? If it does nothing, perhaps it is functioning as a dead key to allow you to use an accent. That's how the US International keyboard on Windows would work, for example. In that case, for an apostrophe you would type two of them.

I'm not sure about the Delete key problem.

Further to what @walt.farrell has said, the text in your post here suggests that you’re typing acute accents instead of apostrophes (as in “doesn´t” instead of “doesn’t” or “doesn't”).

The issue "Keyboard input broken after altering table settings" (REF: AFB-7583) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1742".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
