woodlandelf
I've downloaded all the software, but when I try to open the application, it shows a bar with "verifying" Publisher and never opens. I'm on Mac 10.14.6 with more than 300 GB of space and 16GB of ram. Here's a screenshot. Can you help? Thank you. Wendy
Old Bruce
Hi and welcome to the forums @woodlandelf, I too run Mac OS 10.14.6 and that window sometimes takes a long time, several minutes (never more than 10), to finish. I think it comes down to the network speed and connection. I have found that restarting the machine clears up a lot of this sort of OS system slowdowns. On occasion I forget to shut down for a couple of weeks and am amazed at how much better everything runs after a restart. woodlandelf
Hi Bruce, I have restarted and will try again. I've also noticed after a couple of weeks how slow the machine can get and that restarting usually helps a lot! Hopefully this will be the resolution. Thank you! I'll keep you posted. woodlandelf
Hi Bruce, I was able to open Publisher! I'm sure the other two open as well. Just restarting my computer was the solution! Thank you! Wendy
Staff DWright Posted June 25, 2021 Staff Share Posted June 25, 2021 Hi @woodlandelf, Can you please make sure that all three apps have been installed into the Applications folder otherwise each time you start one of the apps it will be installed into memory and you will see this message while this is happening. woodlandelf
Hi @DWright, Yes, when I installed the software, it went into the Applications folder. I've been working on Macs for 30 years, so I'm pretty familiar with installing applications. 🙂 Thank you! Wendy

I got used to putting my Applications where ever I thought they should go. OS X was just weird what with the use of an actually necessary Application folder. And file extensions! woodlandelf
Hi @Old Bruce, Ah, I remember system 6! Remember Font DA mover? Ugh. System 7 was great and then system 10 required all new software! And I use to love Quark Xpress. Too bad they didn't develop a photo and illustration program. Guess, we've got to go with the flow! I've opened the Affinity software and it seems really good. A bit of a learning curve but not completely unfamiliar. And I was glad to see that you can edit PDFs in Publisher as well. I'll probably go ahead and buy all three apps. Thanks for you help! Wendy
