ashf
The stroke on text with particular font will be shifted when printing. I can send the font(it's a paid font so I can not upload here directly) as sample.
Staff Sean P Posted June 21, 2021 Staff Share Posted June 21, 2021 Hi Ashf, I've created a link below - if you could attach the Affinity document and font that would be great!https://www.dropbox.com/request/U6dGDhL0fKmxUuSivEOn Thanks
ashf
Uploaded. Sample artwork uses a few fonts including that have no shift. Distance of the shift seems to be different for each font. TrueType of DynaFont fonts(DF) are old and already discontinued, but still many users are using it. I uploaded some but if you need I will send you entire font pack. UD Digital fonts come with MS Office. MPlus fonts are open source.https://github.com/coz-m/MPLUS_FONTS
Staff Sean P Posted June 22, 2021 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2021 Thanks for the files. I've installed all the fonts included in 'stroke-shift.zip' and opened up the containing afdesign file. However I've both printed that to a physical HP 3050a printer, along with both Microsoft's Print to PDF and Adobe's Print to PDF driver and none of those are showing the shift in your screenshot. Have you tried any Print to PDF utilities and do they still show the error with the offset lines? If so what ones are you using? Also what printer make and model are you using? Note I scaled the rectangle size down to avoid wasting ink. MSPrintToPDF.pdf AdobePrintToPDF.pdf
ashf
Both MS' and Adobe's pdf printer have the shift problem. See the attached pdf. And this is not only on my PC, I'm reporting this because I was asked about this problem from another user. ashf
Also I see MPlus font has small shift on your PDF too.

Thanks I can see that now I've overlayed the two, but definitely not getting anywhere near the results you're seeing on the bottom font. I did notice that your PDFs are slightly wider than the ones I got from the source. Do you mind attaching a video or screenshots showing all the settings in the print dialog that you're using please? I just changed the document size from A4 to Letter. it did not affect the result at all though. AD-print-screen.mp4
Staff Sean P Posted June 22, 2021 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2021 Thanks for that - interestingly I've just tried it on two relatively clean Virtual Machines and can reproduce it! I'll get it passed along to see what can be done! Thanks again. ashf
ashf
P.S. UD Digital font has "micro" shift on both your PDF and mine, not sure if you have noticed. So distance of the shift is varied depends on the font used.
