Hi all

Im brand new to this software (25 yrs Ai exp.). I ma encouraged that this may be a viable alternative to AI but I'm finding it hard going.

I have many questions but ill start with one. I want to scale a shape 100% in the horizontal and 56% in the vertical. How do i so it, i don't see a scale dialogue box anywhere . . please enlighten me:-)

Hi there, it works, I was taking out the previous number first.

Can you group things together?

how do i cut a line in half?

Surely these are basics that as a vector illustrator veteran I could work out for myself. Im not finding it intuitive . . .

For what its worth, I'm acheing for something like this to work, i don't mean to be negative, as I'm v annoyed at adobe and its lazy updates and subscription service. However for me to use this in my work its a long way off being reality, I appreciate its new app and all, but I can't help thinking until it matures people like me are not going to jump ship just yet.  I wish you all the success in the future and i will keep checking in to see how things are shaping up.

Hi Matt,

Grouping layers (objects) is performed by selecting the layers (objects) and typing Cmd+G, ungrouping by Shift+Cmd+G, or by using the respective menu commands (Layer > Group, Layer > Ungroup).

To cut an existing path at a certain point, add a node there by clickin on the path with the Node Tool and choose Break Curve from the context toolbar. You can break a path at any node. As far as I know, there is currently no way to cut an existing path in two paths of equal length, apart from the options that are available through grids, guides and snapping. So it will be quite difficult to cut a curved path the way you want to. But I believe this will be improved soon, and as far as I know, the developers also think about adding a scissors tool.

Hope that helps …  :)

Cheers, Alex
