Is support for OpenCL on recent AMD cards still not resolved? It has been a while..

From the last statement by Serif, AMD still has not resolved the issue.

No. For a while I had downgraded to a Polaris (RX580) and it works fine. I'm back to a Navi based AMD card (RX5500XT) and no work. I think it's probably not going to ever work at this point. Older, Polaris based cards work fine though.

I was in fact on an rx480, and as you say, everything worked as expected. But the card went to computer heaven, so I had to buy a navi card (6600xt). And now, openCL acceleration. Weird, it works quite well, if openCL worked, I suppose it would work even better..

Not necessarily. There are a number of issues reported here where glitches show up in the work when OpenCL is enabled. I'm not sure if they're due to problems in the Affinity code or problems in the drivers, but there have been many posts where the resolution (workaround?) to the report has been "disable OpenCL".

Witam.

Czy obsługa OpenCL na najnowszych kartach AMD nadal nie została rozwiązana? Minęło trochę czasu...

I changed the AMD RX480 to the AMD 6800XT because I needed more performance in other applications.
It works in other programs, not in Affinity.
If we hope AMD will fix something that evidently has an Affinity problem, then we're fun.

That means was not a problem on AMD side!

No, it doesn't necessarily mean that.

We know there was a problem on the AMD side which caused Serif to restrict the function when those AMD cards were in use. And there are reports that,  eventually, AMD fixed the problem.

It is possible that in V2 Serif simply removed the restriction. And it is almost possible that they could remove it for V1, too, if or when they have another V1 release.

Daniel, I might not be the one to answer that question, as my rig is not your typical setup. However, I can say that I have not had a problem with affinity 2, performance-wise. I will report in case I do, so the developer team can tweak the programs for a smoother experience.

Hi juanmanuel and thread!

Well, my Rig specifications are these
Also I have hardware acceleration option enabled
Any suggestions?
