Image can't be dragged into a curve to be trimmed

Hello, I hope I am not doing anything wrong, but this happens quite often. After some moments it starts to work as expected, is it a known bug or am doing something wrong? I am expecting that after dragging the .png image into a curve it fill it and the picture won't be visible outside of the curve. Why this works once and not the other time?

You're trying to move the Image layer to the same place it already is.

First, move it someplace else.

Then, move it where you want it, but be very careful where your mouse cursor is when you drop it, and carefully watch the blue highlighting. You will get different results if your cursor is to the left of the thumbnail where you drop it, or on the thumbnail, or to a ways to the right of the thumbnail.

Hi @jansindl3r I can't see what you are trying to achieve from your video of the layers but I think you need to be placing a filled shape onto the image layer.

This is how I achieved removing the background of a photograph.
