'Select object when intersects with selection marquee' option misbehaving

Recommended Posts

Ever since the 1.9 versions came out, I've been experiencing issues with the 'select by intersection with marquee' option. Essentially, certain objects will fail to select by this method. If you look carefully, it seems as though they are rapidly being selected and then deselected while dragging the selection marquee over them. I've gotten this to go away by enabling / disabling live effects for individual affected objects, but I'm not sure what causes the initial issue. I believe I see it most on pasted images, although that could simply reflect what I am working with as well.

Sure. After setting this up I now have a better description of the conditions required. It seems to be related to applying a vector crop and / or layer effects. The vector crop issue results in the rapid selection / deselection while dragging the marquee effect. Additionally, applying layer effects with the vector crop makes it so the object isn't selected at all until it is fully enclosed by the selection marquee. The vector crop issues sometime come and go, apparently as the document is edited. You also don't see the bug if the marquee is drawn from upper left to lower right, but it appears if the selection is drawn in any other direction. The layer effect issue seemed more permanent and occurred regardless of the drag direction.
