I have just finished a large document in Affinity Publisher. My experience was great, and I learned a lot. During the process, a lot of edits were made and the current version no longer matches the original manuscript. I would like to export the text from the chapters, but other than cutting and pasting, I can't figure out a way to do this. Has anybody here ever done that? Any ideas about the best strategy for it?

Sad to say that you have figured out how to do it.

You may be able to link all the text frames together Chapter 1 linked to Chapter 2 linked to .... so as to have one long bit of text. But this depends on how you have your Paragraph Styles set up, it might mess things up. So save a copy to do this one job.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Ah yes, hadn't thought. If you're on macOS you can export as PDF and then use Automator, without sending your text to be read by an online converter:

Ah, I always keep forgetting about the built-in PDF extractor. Being still on ElCap, usually I'd go via Acrobat X > Save As Word/RTF/whatever.

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
