Symbols icons and biohazards…

Recommended Posts

It's probably just the way my mind works, but EVERY time I see the Symbols panel/icons in Affinity Designer I immediately associate it with the biohazard symbol. I have zero idea what the Affinity symbols icons are supposed to represent, so in my mind they simply remain the "Affinity Biohazard Symbols", and I close the panel and forget they exist. The colour of them definitely doesn't help, but maybe the icons themselves are something to revisit in a future update?

Good catch! I had a similar thought for a quite while but I just couldn't put my finger on it…

About the biohazard symbol on wikipedia: "We wanted something that was memorable but meaningless, so we could educate people as to what it means."

Apparently Serif is successful in taking the same approach.
