Guest Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 It's probably just the way my mind works, but EVERY time I see the Symbols panel/icons in Affinity Designer I immediately associate it with the biohazard symbol. I have zero idea what the Affinity symbols icons are supposed to represent, so in my mind they simply remain the "Affinity Biohazard Symbols", and I close the panel and forget they exist. The colour of them definitely doesn't help, but maybe the icons themselves are something to revisit in a future update?
loukash Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Good catch! I had a similar thought for a quite while but I just couldn't put my finger on it… Cuando 1 MacBookAir 15": MacOS Sonoma > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 18 > Affinity v2
RNKLN Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 About the biohazard symbol on wikipedia: "We wanted something that was memorable but meaningless, so we could educate people as to what it means." Apparently Serif is successful in taking the same approach. Affinity Photo - Affinity Designer - Affinity Publisher | macOS Sequoia (15.6) on 16GB MBP14 2021 with 2.6.4. versions
