Affinity Designer rendeers stroke without background in wrong size

Recommended Posts

Dear Affinity Designer users,

I have the problem that when exporting a stroke without background it creates a png with the stroke in the middle but very tiny. You can see the result I get in the attached photo. The "M" should fill the whole image instead of being just tiny in the middle...

I hope you can help me with that. I'm using Affinity Designer in version 1.8.5.703 on a Windows PC running Windows 10.

Best regards,

Max

Hi @Max Neumann  Notwithstanding @GarryP's request for more background information, I wonder if this isn't as simple as not having restricted your export to just the "M" stroke itself?

Ensure what you want to export is selected, then change the area drop-down menu from the default "Whole document"  to "Selection without background".

Hello @GaryLearnTech and @GarryP,

thank you very much for your quick responses. I've just attached my Affinity File to this post. What I tried is to select the M stroke as @GaryLearnTech mentioned and selected "Selection without background" for Export. But when changing to "Selection without background" the image size changes immediately and when I export it then I get the result as seen in my first post.

Best Max

On the stroke panel you have a Mitre of 100

Setting it to 2.5 should be enough for the effect you want
