GerLab Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Hey Fellows! Sometimes I try to open the brush edit panel but Affinity crashes immediately without a warning. I don't know if this is because I have too much brushes or could be something else. Quote
Staff Chris B Posted February 16, 2021 Staff Posted February 16, 2021 Hello GerLab, Does this happen with brushes you have loaded in yourself or can it also happen on the pre-installed brushes? Can you make it crash again and then get the crash report for me please? Staff Chris B Posted February 22, 2021 Staff Posted February 22, 2021 I'm not sure if that crash report relates to the issue you're having here. I cannot reproduce this and I've spent a good 10 mins relentlessly clicking and dragging in the dialog. Can you make sure that Windows is fully updated, including graphics drivers etc. and see if it crashes again as we really need a new crash report. GerLab Posted February 26, 2021 Author Posted February 26, 2021 Hi Cris I made Photo crash it again but it don't makes the crash reports and I don't know why, (I was trying the whole week) Could be an some option that is activated or deactivated? Also Windows is updated, also the graphic drivers. Quote
Staff Chris B Posted March 1, 2021 Staff Posted March 1, 2021 I suspect that it's to do with eitther the amount of brushes you have or a set of custom brushes either created or imported. I've had another go and I still cannot get any type of crash. I only have 3x packs of PS brushes installed along with the defaults. Do you have Capture One installed? There's a crash related to that app and thumbnails. Also, can you check to see of OpenCL is affecting this? Go to Preferences > Performance and disable OpenCL. GerLab Posted March 8, 2021 Author Posted March 8, 2021 Hi Chris, sorry for the late answer. Well I have like 29 brushpacks installed 😅, (Daub, Frankentoon and some of the Trailhead design) Could be this? It crashed again but Photo doesn't make the crash report. Nope, I don't have Capture One. I checked the OpenCL but it also happens with or without it. Quote
Staff Chris B Posted March 10, 2021 Staff Posted March 10, 2021 The only thing I could suggest (and it might take some time) is to make sure all brush packs are backed up if they aren't already, reset all the brushes and add each pack in one by one until you find the culprit. Even then, you might not be able to identify an offending pack. If all the packs were zipped up this is something me (QA) could work at doing for you.
