Affinity Photo Astrophoto stacking crashes the program

I tried this new function, during loading of files, the program crashes.  Windows 10 Home 64bits, Affinit version 1.9.0932.

I am experiencing this too and have made a bug report.

The workaround I am using is to reduce the RAM Usage Limit in the Performance Preferences to about 1/4 of my installed RAM (set to 2048MB in my case)

Maybe this will work for you?

Thanks, these RAM settings were set to about 1/4 of installed, so must be something in else in my case.

Hey Geert_Vandenbulcke,

Thanks for the bug report. colinmel has been helping us with this so I'll add your logs to the report we made. 

Currently I'm not entirely sure what may be cusing this but could you try disabling OpenCL from Preferences > Performance and see if that helps.

I checked the setting that colinmel mentioned.  I have much more RAM installed and the setting is to 1/4 of maximum, doesn't work still.

I think as this is a new feature, there are still some teething issues and improvements to be made. I would encourage you to watch out for new beta announcements as there will be fixes and improvements going in for this.
