Marysia
Hello! I have to correct quite a lot photos of glass objects, so I'm looking for fast way to remove scratches, dust and other defects like those 👇 I need photos to be perfect. Is there any faster option than inpainting brush tool?
markw
Hello Marysia and welcome to the Affinity forums 🙂 Well, only you will really know how perfect perfect is for your needs! Attached is a quick go using Dust & Scratch removal filter compensated for with a High Pass filter and a Pixel layer to touch-up 5 individual spots not fully removed by the D&S removal filter. Hopefully this might give you some ideas as to how to proceed with your other images. As there is often more than one way to do things I’m sure others here will have more ideas for you shortly! firstdefence
Honestly, I'd take the photo's again, post editing is always the last resort. You can forgive glass imperfections but fingerprints top left and right and dirty glass is just poor photography. Some form of blurring is going to be the only quick option but that's going to be at the sacrifice of sharpness and detail in the lowlight and edge area's so perfect is not really achievable. If you can't take the photos again, you're in for some work. There could be a workflow where you can achieve a better look than it is but I doubt there is a shortcut. Removing the glass bubbles is easy enough with the spot healing brush.
