Liquify as Live-Filter is very slow

Hello,

as a loyal and enthusiastic user of Affinity Photo for many years, I was very excited about version 1.9 and installed it immediately, whereby I generally install every beta version in order to be able to try out the latest features.
Now I have unfortunately found in the latest version (1.9.0.932) that the Liquify function as a live filter is very slow and is delayed compared to the destructive variant. I made a little video about this to illustrate it.

My PC-System:

Windows 7 Pro (64 Bit); MSI Z170-A PRO, Intel Core i7 6700K, 2x 16GB (1x 16384MB) Crucial CT16G4DFD8213 DDR4-2133 DIMM CL15 Single

PS. I uploaded the video here first but it was not recognized.

Hi both,

@MartinK

Hardware acceleration(new for 1.9) which can be found in Preferences > Performance does not work on Windows 7. So what you see is expected. Live filters (especially Liquify) are resource hungry and will slow down the app. This is where hardware acceleration comes into play (if supported by your OS).

@Simonj88 are you also running Windows 7?

That's too bad. But thanks for your answer! In future, Serif would only have to point out that certain filters do not run optimally or poorly under Windows 7.

Hallo <ihr> beiden,

@MartinK

Die Hardwarebeschleunigung (neu für 1.9), die unter Einstellungen > Leistung zu finden ist, funktioniert nicht unter Windows 7. Das, was Sie sehen, wird also erwartet.

Unfortunately, I have to say that Windows 10 alone is not enough for hardware acceleration. But that's what it's suggested. In fact, Windows 10 alone is of no use if an integrated graphics unit such as an Intel HD-530 is installed.
