Complete Crash when Logging into account

Recommended Posts

Hi

At start up I got a screen with freeby offer for various filters, rain, snow etc. If I try to Log into my account from that screen the programme crashes completely removing itself from memory, checked and same happens if I use the Log into account from the drop down help  menu

Regards

John

Hi @Xylene,

Thanks for reporting this. I've just got a couple of questions if that's ok:

  1. Did you purchase the apps via the Microsoft Store?
  2. What version of Microsoft Store do you have running (found towards the bottom of the Settings page)?
  3. What's the version number of c:\windows\system32\RuntimeBroker.exe?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

We're currently looking into this and have a couple of questions. If you wouldn't mind answering the following that would be much appreciated!

  1. Did you buy the app from the Microsoft Store?
  2. What version of Microsoft Store do you have running (found towards the bottom of the Settings page)?
  3. What's the version number of c:\windows\system32\RuntimeBroker.exe?
  4. Are you running any anti-virus software? If so, what is it?

Thanks in advance

DanG,

As noted above:

1. No I bought directly from your website years ago.

2. N/A because not on Windows Store version (v 12011.1001.1.0)

3. 10.0.19041.746

4. No anti-virus beyond default Windows Defender.

I have the same issue with Designer, Photo and Publisher. Programs open fine and can create document etc. It's just the sign in screen that says "Wait a moment" then program closes/crashes.

1. All programs purchased on serif website

2. N/A did not use Microsoft store

3. 10.0.19041.746

4. Avast antivirus, disabling did not resolve issue

All programs on Windows 10 64 bit, latest Nvidia driver. Disabled Avast antivirus, rebooting, downloading full install instead of update to repair did not resolve the issue.

Hi,

I just upgraded from version 1.8 via your email which directs to your site and  the version that I installed was the latest  1.9,0.932  originally I bought it from you. so no download from Microsoft store ever involved. I am running windows defender  and have made sure Affinity has access through the fire wall. I can get to the forum from within Affinity photo, it just crashes if I pick the register option. I am running 64bit  win10 Pro, runtimebroker version is 10.0.19041.746.

Regards

John

'When starting the software, you can try to use the shortcut option to run as an administrator'

Yes that works!

But doesnt overcome the problem of trying to sign in from the created shortcut.

But a useful tip anyway, thanks.
