FourPro JewelryPhotoStudio
While previous 1.8 version always works properly. Is it possible to return to version 1.8 after an update?
Staff Chris B Posted February 4, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2021 Hey FourPro JewelryPhotoStudio, Welcome to the Affinity Forums. This is likely caused by the new hardware acceleration (OpenCL). You can disable it from Preferences > Performance and see if that helps. If that still dosn't work, you can download older builds from here:https://store.serif.com/en-gb/update/windows/photo/1/ I'm not able to reproduce that here, if you wanted to attach a few samples I can get this logged once reproduced. Wayne Wilson
Same problem here, disabling opencl is a viable work around. I am using Nvidia, 1050 card with latest drivers, see beta forum where I gave more details and uploaded an image set that I am using to test on. FourPro JewelryPhotoStudio
I confirm that the problem is related to OpenCL and it does not happen if not available (earlier Windows 10 version) or when it is disabled as Chris suggested. Thank you Chris.
Staff Chris B Posted February 8, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 8, 2021 Hi all, this has been fixed in the beta: Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Wayne Wilson
Thank the developers for this. Yes, the 1.9.1.943 beta fixes the focus merge with opencl enable selected bug. Just curious, should we expect that with opencl enabled the merge would be faster? On my hardware, Win10, i7-7700 and GT-1050 video card, it's exactly the same time to process, enabled or disabled. Good question—in theory it could be faster using OpenCL as opposed to software rendering as Focus Merging does use the GPU. However for now I think we are focusing on stability with the potential for it to be faster in the future.
