Object snapping not working on my ipad pro

I have the snapping icon highlighted but when I move one selected object around it is not showing any snapping lines.  Not in the center or on any edges.  I have two objects and one is selected.  i want to sanp it to the edge of the unselected object.  I move it around very slowly but nothing happens.  it is as though snapping is not turned on.  Need help

Sorry for the delayed response. If possible could you provide a screenshot or screen recording of your snapping settings? This will allow me to investigate this further

How do I do a screen recording?  All I can tell you is that the snapping does not work.  I use it on my desktop and it works fine.  I get no colored lines indicating alignment with centers or edges or vertices.  I do not know how to take a shot of it not snapping.
