PugilisticPoetry Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 When converting to EPS I will often get a white background that can not be cleared on many elements. Text is the most problematic. This is causing issues as I need to be able to convert my file for an AI end user, and all editable conversions have inadequate outcomes. I have attached the AD files for you to look at and one example of the poor output. Buff Circ New Logo- Black 4.0.afdesign White buafflo new.afdesign twofai 1 Quote
v_kyr Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 The default EPS format does not natively support transparency/semi-transparency, you may try instead to exchange with Ai via another vector format like PDF/SVG. Since you said that "it always comes with a full white background", I'm assuming that you tried viewing the .eps and .pdf in some tool like acrobat ( or any other preview app you might have used ), which showed you a white background. Mostly every .pdf capable viewing application has a default setting that shows a white background for convenience. You can try opening the .pdf in some editing application like the Affinity apps (or In Acrobat with settings Cmd+K > Page display > Transparency grid) etc., just make sure you can turn on there in whatever app the view that shows you the transparency grid then.
