rectangle fill ?

its been a while that I have not used affinity designer

trying to draw a simple rectangle that is filled red and stroke green

so have red fill and green stroke and drawing rectangle.

draw the rectangle, it is blank no color or stroke just the rectangle outline?

The techniques shown in telemax’s GIF should work in all the Affinity applications.
If they are not working for you then showing us a video of what’s happening when you try them should give us enough information to help further.
P.S. Try pressing the “Revert Defaults” button (see attached image) on the Toolbar, before you start drawing your rectangle, and that will reset the fill and stroke settings for the next shape you draw.
