I downloaded this free font from google https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Oswald and after installing it, the font is listed in Affinity Photo like you can see in the screenshot below. The differented faces of the font seem to be installed correctly (when taking a look in the Windows fonts window) and do work in MS Word. Any advice? Thanks and cheers! Old Bruce Posted December 6, 2020 Share Posted December 6, 2020 You have been bitten by the "Affinity does not support Variable Fonts" bug. Variable fonts like this one are not supported by any of the Affinity applications. The Affinity apps aren’t yet able to work with variable font technology, so you can’t use the ‘Oswald-VariableFont_wght’ TTF file. You need to install the individual font weights from the ‘static’ folder. EDIT: Installing them with the seperate files from the static folder works perfectly!
