Assinity Designer chrashed while defining an own layout

When I try to define a new own layout (by pressing the (+) the program crashes.

Same behavior in Designer and Photo.

This issue is new after installing BigSur

Sorry for the delayed reply. 

I've had the exact same issue earlier. 

Depending on where you got the app from. 

Mac App Store :

Go to ~/Library/Containers/ 

rename com.seriflabs.affinitydsigner (if you can't find it, look for Affinity Designer) to com.seriflabs.affinityphoto.OLD (or Affinity Designer.OLD)

Affinity store:

Go to ~/Library/Application Support/
rename the 'Affinity Photo' folder to 'Affinity Photo Old'

Restart the app and see if that fixed your issue. If it has, go back to the same location, delete the current com.seriflabs.affinitydsigner or Affinity Designer and rename the .OLD back to its original name (by removing the .OLD)

I got Designer/Photo from the App Store, but the way you mentioned above don't work because there is no entry "com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner" in that place.

But may by I'm wrong about the source I got the app. What's the way to find out from which source O got the app?

Try looking for "Affinity Designer" in ~/Library/Containers/ . If not, look for the same "Affinity Designer" folder in ~/Library/Application Support/

You can check which one you've got by opening the App Store and see if you have a "Buy" or an "Open" button for either apps.
