Yang L
Hello, Thank you devs for making this awesome software. I like it so much and I hope you a great day. I'm using Affinity Photo 1.8.5.703 to edit my raw photos taken from my phone, Redmi Note 9 Pro International model (joyeuse). The white balance options are not working properly. If I don't check the "White Balance" option, it seems right. However, if I enable it, the picture change colors, with absurd Temperature and Tint values. I cannot change the tint value because once I change it, the range is from -50% to 50%, and it's getting more weird. My only way around is to leave it alone, and add a white balance layer in Photo persona. This is not a problem for a single picture, but for all the RAW files taken from my phone. To make sure it's the software's issue, I tried Paintshop Pro (because they have 30-day free trail) and there's no such problem. I attached what the picture looks like, and the original RAW file. It could be reproduced easily on my computers. Thank you in advance, IMG_20201030_130505.dng
Ron P.
Hi @Yang L and Welcome to the forums, I can confirm that. Not sure why AP is misreading the white balance. I checked your image file in Lightroom and PSP 2021, and both had a more correct white balance. EDITED: I realized the pink tint is indicative of the program not supporting a RAW file. So I used the current BETA 1.9.0.820, and viola, no problem. So you're phone/camera is new enough, the current retail release does not support it. If you have not, you might try downloading the current Beta version HERE. Just be advised that it is recommended to NOT do any critical work using the BETA, it is meant for testing, and there are bugs in it. Yang L
Hello @Ron P., Thanks for your help. I tried the BETA version and white balance there does work. It's good that I have another option to play around. Wonderful. I do expect a quick update with this fixed, given that it's already fixed in BETA.
