Butrflied
This is my first time applying a bitmap pattern to a shape .. and I think I'm doing it wrong. I created a wood texture on these fire logs by using the bitmap fill and a high rez jpg file of wood grain. My afdesign file is 63.9 MB! If I change them to a solid fill, file size drops to 11.7MB (which I still think is high, but better). What am I doing wrong? I uploaded the giant file to my server if you want to take a look .. http://createdbyericalynn.com/imgs/fire_solo.afdesign
Staff MEB Posted August 27, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 27, 2015 You have one fill image for each shape. Since there's 10 shapes (you have 2 Fire Logs groups each one with five shapes) all this sums up. Although you are using the same fill image for all, i'm not sure if Affinity Designer is referencing it from a single instance at this point. I would say it isn't but only MattP (project lead) can reply to this. You may also need to check if you have File ▸ Save History With Document enabled. This also adds some weight to the document.
