OOS
We are transitioning from Quark. We need to import plain text (from emails) into text fields already set up on our templates. The templates have font/size/colour options already in place and we need to just cut and paste in the new text and have it keep the same style as the template text. We don't want to create styles and have to apply them to each text field after we import....I am sure it is a simple fix ...can you let me know how to do this. Cheers Nick. GarryP
Welcome to the forums @OOS What I think you want to do is working just fine for me in Publisher so there’s a chance that I don’t understand what you want to do. My attached video shows what I did. If this isn’t what you want to do then you may need to give us more specific details about your requirements. 2020-10-12_09-42-27.mp4
h_d
If you already have a paragraph style and/or colour applied to an empty text frame, then Edit-Paste Without Format will pick those up and apply them to the pasted text. OOS
Thanks for your replies. The "paste without format" is what I was after. Is there any way to have this as the default paste setting? Cheers

OOS
Be nice to set this as a preference. - Cmd+Opt+Shift+V on macOS - I can only use two fingers at a time on a keyboard!🙂
h_d
But to be serious, you could change that shortcut to something a bit less finger-bending. Cmd-K on MacOS for example. Most of the other Cmd+single key shortcuts are taken. Quote Affinity Photo 2.5.3, Affinity Designer 2.5.3, Affinity Publisher 2.5.3, Mac OSX 14.5, 2018 MacBook Pro 15" Intel.
