Ayleigh
Hi, I could use some advice and hopefully someone can help me out. I’m trying to make a Japanese rising sun design. The sun rays or sunburst that’s on the Japanese flag. I googled it and found a tutorial but it’s for photoshop and I have all of the Affinity software. If anyone can give me some advice on how to accomplish this I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks! Old Bruce
Try using the Cog tool in Designer. Then you need the paper or cloth background under that and use darker colour for the blend mode. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Ayleigh
Thanks for your reply! Im still having a hard time recreating the sunrays. I did try the cog tool, I think I just don't understand how to use the tools properly yet. So, I bought a couple courses from Udemy. It's a little overwhelming at first trying to learn everything. I thought about taking an image of what I want and tracing it too. Do you think that would work out ok?
v_kyr
It's very easy to do ... sun_screencast.mp4 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
v_kyr
Though a traced flag as a vector shape might finally look more equally to that original then. Just add a suitable background (as Old Bruce said) and blend the layers together then. - I've used a small paper bitmap background here (just for quick show purposes), you should of course use a bigger one, or ideally a vector based too, so you can scale up and size as needed without pixelazation/rasterization. naval_flag_japan.afdesign Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
