jackamus Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Having set the grid spacing for all three axes, how can I maintain their aspect ration whist changing one of the axes. By that I mean I have a settings of First axis 4mm, Second axis 4.5mm and the Up axis 5mm. There are too many grid lines so If I want to increase the First axis spacing to to 1.5mm I would have to do a percentage calculation to work out the new spacing for the other two axes. What we need is another aspect ratio box that we can tick to maintain the current ratio whilst changing one of the axes settings. Has this issue ever been raised before? Staff Callum Posted August 24, 2015 Staff Posted August 24, 2015 Hi Jackamus, Just below the Mode dropdown box in the Grids manager there is a tick box that says Fixed Aspect Ratio. Ticking this box will make the spacing automatically adjust for all Axis when the spacing for one is changed. C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
jackamus Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 This doesn't seem to work and in fact it gets worse! I have a grid in which the settings are First axis 4mm, Second axis 4.5mm and the Up axis 5mm. When I clicked on the Aspect ratio of the First Axis (4mm) all the others also changed to 4mm and I couldn't change it back again - no 'Cancel' button! My original setting have gone and I cannot get them back again. Fortunately I saved this particular in a document and can re-open it. I have attached the file for you to play with. jackamus Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Another point about grids. When setting up very precise axes spacing it would be helpful to choose to view only one axes at a time - much less confusion of lines! Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed!
