jackamus Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Is there a way of preserving custom pressure profiles for all jobs like brush strokes? Staff Callum Posted August 19, 2015 Staff Posted August 19, 2015 Hi Jackamus, You are able to save Pressure Profiles by clicking save profile at the bottom left of the Pressure Window. However the Pressure Profiles are saved into the document and not the program. Once you have created a Pressure Profile you are able to apply it to a brush as long as the controller is set to pressure. I hope this helps :) C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
jackamus Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 I never use brushes as all my work is technical illustration and I only use lines. How then do I save a pressure profile as a brush? Staff Callum Posted August 19, 2015 Staff Posted August 19, 2015 You can't save your Pressure Profile as a brush. But you can apply it to brushes or strokes by selecting the Brush Pencil or Pen tool and then going to the Stroke Tab clicking Pressure and then clicking your Pressure Profile. jackamus Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Hi Callum, Are you sure you have mentioned all the steps to save the pressure profile as a brush stroke? Here's what I'm doing. 1 I select the Pen tool and draw an ellipse. 2 I then do what you said above but it doesn't do anything. What you have suggested is what I do anyway but it only works for that document. I want it to work on all docs. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Staff Callum Posted August 19, 2015 Staff Posted August 19, 2015 Hi jackamus, I have created a video showing me setting the pressure profile for the pen tool and then drawing an ellipse with pressure applied to it. I also quickly show what other tools can be used with pressure in this way. Unfortunately Pressure profiles are only saved in documents and not in the App however it has been suggested before so it may be implemented in the future. Sorry that there is no sound on my video I don't have a microphone so I am unable to add voice over to the video to explain what I am doing. jackamus Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Thanks Callum. I was already aware of what the pressure tab can do. Here is an example of how I use the pressure tab. jackamus Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 There is something very strange going on with using this grid! This file is of an ellipse that I copied from the job I am working on. I converted it to curves and then edited. I then applied the pressure profile but it doesn't respond to it. Pressure tab 2.afdesign Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed!
