Alex Wilson
Ran the 1.8.5 update, now can't update, can't uninstall, and can't run it. I am logged in as a user with administrator access. Update failed. Running it again gets me (with out without running it as administrator): The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Affinity\Publisher. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator. Trying to open C:\Program Files\Affinity gives me permission denied. If I look at the properties/security of the folder, I don't have permissions and it will not allow me to take ownership. Publisher does not appear in the list of programs to add/remove. walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Alex Wilson. Sorry you've hit that issue with the way Windows manages program installation and uninstallation. Some of us hit it; some don't. Some steps to try that have helped others: if you haven't already, you should Restart Windows, then Start > Settings > Updates & Security, and make sure no Windows Updates are in progress. Then Right-click on the installer for Publisher and choose Run as Administrator. If that fails with the same error, then Try running the Microsoft Uninstall Troubleshooter. Then repeat steps 1 and 2, and it is likely to work.
