Perhaps a screen shot showing the brush context menu settings. 😀 ..... in the meantime make sure you don’t have 'protect alpha' turned on in context menu. Once the Assistant has added a raster layer for you, you should be able to paint on it: check the layers in the Layers Studio if you’re not sure what’s going on.
