Matthijs Hols
It seems that there is no support yet for the Canon R5’s CR3 RAW format. When will this be supported on iOS and MacOS?
Staff Lee D Posted August 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 14, 2020 As the iPad version of Affinity Photo use the RAW engine Apple includes in iPadOS the supported would need to be added by them first. Once this is done the files can then be opened and editing in our app.
Matthijs Hols
Ok understood, thanks for letting me know. The question is, does Apple know that Affinity is depending on this? Perhaps you can push for this to happen as well? I had already opened a ticket with Apple as on MacOS it' also lacking unfortunately. On Mac OS you can apparently change raw engine. Not forced to use apples. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Matthijs Hols
Thanks for the tip! For now I will consider this a workaround as I prefer to keep things as native (even though Apple might use third party) as possible.
usern4a
Is there any news on AffinityPhoto supporting the new Canon R5 .cr3 raw (compressed and/or uncompressed) files on macOS Mojave (10.14.6)? If not, are there any batchable(for many photos at once) workarounds that you know of to adapt those .cr3 files into a form that Affinity can import? Thanks!
