craigjonboy Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Hi, my inpainting brush tool has become very slow and glitchy. I have had to swap over to PS because I've gotta complete a restore of a family album. I have attached a recording of Affinity and PS using the same file. I do hope something can be done soon, as I am still having problems with the disappearing blue nesting lines and dialog boxes appearing on other program windows. I would really like to ditch PS subscription as I still prefer AP, but I'm not confident to do this with all these glitches going on. Affinity.mov Photoshop.mov Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 10, 2020 Staff Posted June 10, 2020 Hi craigjonboy, Welcome to Affinity Forums Go to Affinity Photo Preferences, Performance section and check if you have Enable Metal compute acceleration ticked. If so disable it and try the Inpainting Brush Tool again. Does you still lags while you work? With Enable Metal compute acceleration ticked/enabled, can you also try to untick/disable temporarily the Dust & Scratches live filter and the Black and White adjustment while you use the Inpainting Brush Tool. Does it lags too or works fine? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
craigjonboy Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 Hi MEB, Unchecked the metal compute, there was an improvement with the in painting brush. Strange thing is I have Metal Compute checked today on a similar project and same filters on and the problem has gone. But still having problems with the disappearing blue nesting lines and dialog boxes appearing on other program windows as was reported to you back in April. Cheers Quote
