q166132
Hello all, I have to write in Ido (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ido_language). How can I create a new language for spelling? I want an empty dictionary. After I write the text, then it will manually fill it. Also the hyphenation I will make in the beginning manually. Is this possible? Thanks, Mike
thomaso
Have you checked already "Preferences" > "Auto-Correct" ? There you can choose a preset (some are empty) and fill it manually. But this way you won't create a real dictionary nor get hyphenation. To be able to use the language pull-down menu in the Character Panel (your screenshot) you would place a dictionary file at a specific location on your computer. This file may be empty or not. It will appear in the list of the Character Panel and the Auto-Correct selection menu. – Here is what and where-to: Also this hints of @walt.farrell might interest you:"Hunspell (...) These are standard text files, but with specific names and data format." You might find more help and info about creating Hunspell files in the Web, e.g.: >> Creating a hunspell dictionary for use as spellcheck in Open Office Cool! OpenOffice/LibreOffice uses hunspell as spellchecker. This means that it is possible to create your own wordlist and affix file for your language, if that doesn't exist. Well, for papiamentu - Curaçao's native language - such dictionary doesn't exist. But I had a hard time finding out how to create such files, so I am documenting it here... << https://www.suares.com/?page_id=25&news_id=233 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
