toth
Hi, I've been reading up on the "select objects that intersect with marquee"-options, because I'm working on some drawings exported from CAD, meaning every little object is like 1000 "curves". However, I've tried everything - pressing both buttons before dragging - pressing one before the other - releasing one before the other etc etc.. But the result is the same - there is simply no modification going on at all. Intersecting objects are never selected. I've tried left mousebutton on the external mouse and right on the mousepad. I've tried within layers and groups, I've tried with shift/alt/ctrl pressed, but still no luck. What am I doing wrong? PS; I cannot leave it enabled in tools options, unless there's a shortcut key to enable/disable. EDIT: I just tried enabling it in options, and using rmb to toggle it off, but that doesn't work either. It's like the right-click isn't registering at all, but it does on a normal right-click anywhere on the screen.

GarryP
This is working okay for me in Designer 1.8.3.641 on Windows 10, see attached video. You need to keep the right-mouse button held down until you release the left-mouse-button. 2020-04-27 13-48-14.mp4 toth
toth
Thanks for taking the time man, but still no luck here.. Could it be a VPN/RDP issue? I'm remoting into work, where Affinity is installed.
GarryP
Sorry, I can’t help you with that as I don’t use either. Just out of interest, how many people are using that copy of the application(s) remotely.
toth
I have no idea, but I'm guessing it's a fair few more now, when everybody and their grandma is confined to home office in most parts of the world..
GarryP
Are you saying that you think that many people could be using the same installation of the software on multiple machines at the same time?
toth
No, I meant there's probably alot of Affinity users around the world remoting into their office computer, which has Affinity on it
GarryP
Ah, I see. That’s fine then. Thanks for making that clearer.
Staff Lee D Posted April 29, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 29, 2020 @toth I've just tested over a VPN/Remote Desktop and it works fine for me, that being said it could still be the VPN/RDP apps that you're using. toth
toth
Thank you both for your help - I just remembered that the classic RDP still exists of course, so I tried that one instead of the new fancy win10 one - solved the issue immediately..!
