Lodewijk
Hi, When I open a photo in the Develop Persona it has not the same size as the original photo: it is already cropped on the left side and the right side. How that, and how to restore that?

walt.farrell
Two things happen with RAW files as you Develop: They start out bigger than most other RAW developers will show you, because most RAW developers give you only the pixels that the camera manufacturer suggests they include. Usually the sensor is bigger (in pixel dimensions) than the manufacturer documents, but the edges often have issues. So the manufacturer doesn't include them in the documented image size. The Serif Labs RAW Engine, however, gives them to you in case they happen to be usable for you. But if it's appearing cropped, it's possible that you've applied a Lens Correction, to remove distortion. You can disable that in the Lens studio panel while in the Develop Persona for a RAW image: Chris B 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
Lodewijk
Hi Walt, Thanks for the tip! Yes. that was the sulution. By the way, does rhere exist a manual for Affinity Photo? I like the official video tutorials very much, but sometimes a manual would be helpful too.
walt.farrell
You're welcome. Thanks for confirming that it worked for you. From Serif, you have the video tutorials, the Affinity Photo Workbook (which is not, really, a manual), and you have the Help (which is available within the application and online at https://affinity.help). I've always thought that the Help does a reasonable job as a manual (though it does not explain everything in as much detail as I'd like), but it is the closest thing to a manual that they provide. Beyond that, various authors and teachers have done their own books, and video courses, about each of the Affinity applications.
