Changing the aspect ratio in a RAW file.

Recommended Posts

I would really like some help: I have an Olympus OM-D and shoot RAW. When using this camera, you need to choose an Aspect Ratio first: 4:3, 3:2, 1:1 etc. When I exported the photos to my MacBook, the photos had been cropped to the chosen aspect, even though I could see the whole image on the back of the camera. Is there any way that I can undo the Aspect Ratio in order to work on the entire image? I should add that the camera is a friend's and I didn't realise that I was using an aspect ratio. Have taken some nice photos, which are clearly visible on the camera screen, but the exported version is cropped. I think that I can remove the Aspect Ratio in Lightroom, but would really like to know if it could be done in Affinity. Many thanks in advance.

Can you upload or provide a dropbox link to one of the Raw images?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

The macOS, iPadOs Files sharing 13.4 update allows users to setup/add folders that could enable them to links to the Files folder, of the file in question.  This may help those without Dropbox, just a suggestion for future consideration.
