Blend Mode or Burn & Dodge on Mask

Recommended Posts

It is extremely handy to be able to pain with overlay so that we can darken the darks and lighten the light grey tones so that we can fine tune a mask. If this is not possible then Dodge & Burn should work. Basically option-click on the mask to edit and one can use standard painting tools but none of the blending modes or dodge and burn work with it

 easy without mask

put a pixel layer above fill it with grey 50 %  mode overlay  and  paint

Or  if you want mask  or see  the effect in a preview

put a pixel layer above fill it with grey 75 % or + or -  % Mode  mode overlay and  add mask

Yes, there is workarounds.

But still, many tools just not working inside isolated mask editing and this is a problem... Because there is a lot of cases, when mask editing can not be avoided.

So there is a real need for more tools available to the mask editing!!! :) Including Burn and Dodge
