I have a grey scale layer (drawn raster relief) to which I have applied color by blending a fill color just above the grey scale. When on the grey scale layer with other layers locked I tried using the burn tool to darken a certain part of the grey scale relief below the fill. Each time I do this the part of the map that I am burning turns grey and the fill color blend disappears. I have tried turning off the fill color above the grey scale when burning, but the result is the same. It appears that by burning the grey scale I am interrupting or canceling the blending process.

Is this normal or am I missing a step in this process?
