Björn Roose Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Hi there, I've had Affinity Photo installed on my Windows 8.1 pc for some time. This afternoon however I had to reset my pc. After resetting to Windows 8 I got the message that that version was not fit for Affinity Photo and that I needed at least Windows 8.1. So, I upgraded to 8.1 again. And then I got this message when trying to install: "Affinity Installer werkt niet meer - Er is een probleem opgetreden waardoor het programma niet goed meer werkt. Het programma wordt gesloten en er wordt een melding weergegeven als een oplossing beschikbaar is." Translated: "Affinity Installer doesn't work anymore - There was a problem because of which the program doesn't function as it should. The program will be shut and there will be a message if there's a solution." I've tried running as an admin (I am the admin), I've tried installing the original version (which I still had). Nothing works. So ... help ! Quote
Staff stokerg Posted March 16, 2020 Staff Posted March 16, 2020 Hi Björn Roose and Welcome to the Forums, Can you check this location:%temp%/AffinitySetup To get to that location, call up the Run box by holding down the Windows key and tapping the letter R. Copy and paste the above path into the run box and click okay. That should open a folder, which should contain at least 1 other folder. If there are more than one, find the latest one and open the folder, you should see 2 log files, setup.log and setui.log and attach them here If that location is empty, can you post a screenshot of the error message that does appear when you run the setup? Hi StokerG, I've attached the files. Thanks for helping me out on this. walt.farrell Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 If I'm interpreting the log correctly, it looks like you're trying to install Photo 1.6.5. Was that really your intent? walt.farrell Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I think Serif will be more interested in the logs from an attempt to install the latest version The folders have a time/date that corresponds to the installation attempt. stokerg 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Yes, and I was asked for the most recent one by StokerG. But here's the one from ten minutes earlier. As far as I can see, the only difference is the version. SetupUI.log Setup.log Quote

Good morning StokerG (well, at least here it is), The problem is solved. My pc came up with the solution all by itself this morning. It said it missed .NET Framework 4.8. No idea why it only started missing it two days after the reset (probably because of something else I reinstalled by now), but installing .NET Framework 4.8 solved the problem with installing Affinity Photo too. Don't know if it's the habit here to close threads, but I think this one can thus be closed :-) Kind regards, Björn Quote
