Hello,

I have been a user of Affinity Design for 4 years now. 12 months ago, I installed Affinity Designer onto a new laptop. On my old one, I never ran into crashing issues while opening an document. With this new one, I have ran into this issue threes times as of now. The first two times, I don't remember what caused the program to work fine again, but right now the program is doing it again I  have tried the following to get it work again.

  • Resetting my Computer.
  • Ctrl Click the App and selected the first three options and cleared the program.
  • Ctrl Click the App and selected all option and cleared the program.
  • Uninstalled the program and reinstall while updating to 1.8.

None of these have solved my problem and I am getting quite frustrated that this keeps happen as I use this program for my job. I have read all the forums related to this issue but I have had no luck.

Hi Anthony M.

Is it crashing with a specific document, or does any document cause it to crash? If it a specific document would you be able to attach that please?

Also could you go to %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\CrashReports\reports\ and attach some of the latest dmp files that correspond to the times its crashed when opening a document please?

Thanks,

Thanks for the files. I've had a look at the crash reports and in all instances the crashes are occuring inside nvwgf2umx.dll.

This DLL file is from nVIDIA's graphics drivers, so there is something in their drivers that is causing Affinity to crash when attempting to draw the screen. Unfortunately as this crash is in their code there isn't much that we can investigate. However I would suggest uninstalling and re-installing the latest version of drivers for your graphics card.
