Tan Whites After Windows Update

Recommended Posts

All of the white objects I have created in a Publisher project have suddenly turned a tan color. I read this could be due to a difference between Affinity color settings and computer graphics' color settings, but I'm not sure how to hunt that down on the computer's end, assuming that's the issue. My Affinity project is using standard sRGB IEC61..., and my Windows device color profile is set to the same.

I'm not 100% sure this was due to a Windows 10 update, but it did seem to pop up after Windows updated (fairly major update), so that's my guess. Also, this issue came up just before the recent 1.8 Publisher update, but that update didn't fix the issue. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you are using standard and Windows default sRGB ICC profile for monitor, try to remove it in OS settings. It is the default so there is no need to define it. And your settings could be corrupted after the OS update.

the canvas was white

Yes, that also surprises me, see

I would expect that "everything" that Affinity draws (objects, canvas) will be affected by ICC profile anyway. Maybe Serif will comment on that.

But mainly that the problem is solved :-)
